“Ask, and it shall be given you;
seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one
that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it
shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will
he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye
then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more
shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?” Matthew
7: 7-11(KJV)

Who does God
care about? What does He reward? Does He only value those with these
characteristics…?
- Intelligence
- Wealth
- Good looks
- Power
- Willingness to work hard
- Talent
No, those
are all attributes society cares about. Matthew, chapter 7 tells us God esteems
all of us in the same way. We just
have to ask Him for what we want.
An article
on amazingfacts.org
explores the depth of God’s love and favor. This table summarizes the main
points:
God’s Thoughts The
World’s Opinion
(Genesis 1:27) We’re created in God’s
image.
|
Evolution from single-cell organisms
|
(Isaiah 49:15) He has compassion for us. This is comparable
to a mother’s feelings for her children.
|
Selfishness
|
(Jeremiah 29:11) He thinks thoughts of peace towards us. He
gives us a future and a hope.
|
Fear in the present. Anxiety for the
future.
|
(Jeremiah 31:3) His love for us can’t be measured.
|
Judgment
Acceptance based on performance
|
(Romans 5:8) He sent Christ to die for us.
|
Limited by personal ability
|
(1 John 3:1) God calls us His children.
|
Belief that humans are unexceptional
|
(Ephesians 2: 4-7) He is rich in mercy and love, even when we sin. His grace
is shown in his kindness toward
us.
|
Lack of common courtesy
|
(Psalms 8: 4-6) We’re crowned with glory and honor. We have authority over all things on
Earth.
|
Equality of all living organisms
|
(Psalms 139: 14) All of us are fearfully
and wonderfully made.
|
Importance of appearance and
capabilities
|
My Conclusion
Every
individual is equally valued by God; no exceptions. He looks beyond appearance, intelligence, and
social status. That’s not how he judges us. The following paragraphs will list
one example of how our true worth is often hidden below the surface:
Kodi Lee is a
22-year-old blind and autistic musician. Some might call him “disadvantaged”,
or “disabled”. Neither he, nor his family, seems to accept either of those
terms, however. The video of his recent audition on America’s Got Talent has gone viral—and with good reason.
The young man
is stunningly talented. He made judge Simon Cowell’s jaw drop when he began his
performance. His singing voice was confident and clear, unlike his speaking
voice. His piano playing was perfectly smooth.

What does God’s love mean to you?
One of my favorite songs is called "Worth" It is about Jesus dying for you because you are worth it. Powerful message. Great post, Traci
