“Know ye not that they which run in a
race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And
every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate
in all things. Now they [do it] to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.”--
1 Corinthians 9:24-25 (KJV) (italics added)
Life can get
unbelievably complicated. We often juggle regular duties with unexpected, but
critical, assignments. Family members, co-workers, pets, and friends all need
our attention. When one problem gets solved, another pops up right behind it.
Sound familiar?
Let’s
not forget the days when everything that can
go wrong does go wrong.
That’s where
balance comes in. It will keep us from focusing on only one area of life. Please
enjoy these quotes from everydaypower.com. (I have added headings and subheadings):
What is balance?
Moderation in all things (Do nothing in excess.)
“In all aspects of our lives balance is key.
Doing one thing too much can cause upset, like the old saying goes, everything
in moderation is the secret!” – Catherine Pulsifer
“They are
sick that surfeit with too much, as they that starve with nothing.” – William
Shakespeare

one thing can end up creating stress; this is something that no one needs in
their life. But living a life in balance can provide harmony and peace.” –
Catherine Pulsifer
“Happiness is
not a matter of intensity but of balance and order and rhythm and harmony.” –
Thomas Merton
Equal consideration given to the mind
and the body

health and hygiene. Keep yourself healthy by exercising, eating a balanced
diet, and sleeping right.” – Kathleen Rao, Self-Confidence

Open up New Areas of Life
“We need to
introduce a little balance into your life. Part of this balance means not
missing out on some of the marvels of life around you, the fun, some
excitement, or other challenges in life.” – Catherine Pulsifer

that building self-confidence is all about striking a balance in your life. The

limit to what great and beautiful things the human being can create with the

My Conclusion
“I therefore so run, not as
uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air: But I keep under my
body, and bring [it] into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have
preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”—1 Corinthians 9: 26-27
(KJV)
