“Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep
and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your
sorrow shall be turned into joy.”-- John 16:20 (KJV)
What is more empowering than knowing we
don’t have to struggle alone? I have gathered some scriptures on the topic of
how God eases our burdens. They are grouped into categories:\
Brings joy.
John 16:22
“And ye now
therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice,
and your joy no man taketh from you.”
Uplifts and heals.
Psalm 30:1-5, 11
1 “I will
extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to
rejoice over me.”
2 ”O Lord
my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.”
3 “O Lord,
thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I
should not go down to the pit.”
5 “For his
anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a
night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
11 “Thou
hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth,
and girded me with gladness;”
Comforts.
Psalm 23:4
“Yea,
though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil:
for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.”
Delivers us from trouble.
Psalm 34:15-19, 22
15 “The
eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.”
16 “The
face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of
them from the earth.”
17 “The
righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their
troubles.”
18 “The
Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a
contrite spirit.”
19 “Many
are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them
all.”
22 “The
Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him
shall be desolate.”
Wipes out trauma.
Revelation 21:4
“And God
shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death,
neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the
former things are passed away.”
Brings hope and peace.
Romans 15:13
“Now the
God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in
hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
Shows us compassion.
Lamentations 3:22-26
“It is of
the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.”
“They are
new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my
soul; therefore will I hope in him.”
“The Lord
is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.”
“It is good
that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.”
My Conclusion
