despise not thy mother when she is old.”-- Proverbs 23:22 (KJV)

Thanks for reading!
This article is proudly dedicated to
fathers and father figures everywhere. These individuals protect and mentor us
in so many ways. I have gathered music and quotes from a few websites to honor
this special time.

Why we Have Father’s Day (Hellokids.com)
“We often
forget the sacrifices and contributions of our fathers and male figures have
made in our lives. Father's Day gives us the opportunity to show and express
our love, adoration and gratitude to these special people.”
Why all Father Figures are Important
(Tonyrobbins.com)
“…we want to
take time to honor the men who show up, who love, who mentor, who care — even
if they’re not someone’s biological father.” Here are some characteristics of
great male influencers:
- Unselfish
- Loving
- Set beautiful examples
- Give service
- Are present
“Being extraordinary
is a choice, and to be an exceptional father figure a man has to make the
decision to commit to that choice every single day.”

Why Positive Examples are Crucial (Chaseoaks.org)
“Basically,
children who have involved fathers are more likely to be healthy emotionally,
socially, and intellectually. Even when children face crises, having an involved
father helps children regulate their behavior and feelings better than children
whose fathers are absent.”
“A father’s
positive influence is why we should celebrate Father’s Day. Fathers work hard
to take care of their families by providing for their needs, doing household
chores, and spending time with their children.”
My Conclusion
Abel Ullon , “My Dad”
“Oftentimes,
we think of mothers as sentimental, but fathers like to hear how much their
children love them and why they think their fathers are great. They like to be
the superheroes in the story—the ones who save the day and make their
children’s and spouse’s lives better.”--

Have you honored a father figure today?
I was blessed to have a special, precious, kind father who taught me many things. After my mom died, I don't know what I would have done without a close relationship with my dad. My heart hurts when I hear of many people who have little to no relationship with their earthly fathers.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing those heartfelt words. I have no problem picturing a younger you in the arms of a compassionate, caring dad.
